Hide Your Candy

My final Halloween card for this year uses some sweet (pun intended) paper from K and Co. and the great Impression Obsession stamp set "If the Broom Fits". I can't find it on their web site, but they have other really fun Halloween stamp sets. Talking about missing things, whatever happened to K and Co.? They had such fun Halloween paper and accessories for it. I'm happy I have a small stash that I just love, and considering how few Halloween cards I do, it's really a lifetime supply. ;D

I encrusted the edge of the patterned paper with black glitter. I used Diamond Glaze so it sticks really well. It's something I like to do on Halloween cards. I like the sparkle and texture it adds. The patterned paper was also run thru the spider web Cuttlebug folder.

Creeping Up

My second Halloween card for this year. This one puts the creepy sentiment centre stage. The sentiment is from an Impression Obsession clear set called "If the Broom Fits".

I didn't take a photo of the inside of this card before I mailed it, but it has a skeletal arm and hand inside, which like the eyes and candy, came from an accessory pack to some K&Co. paper I had in my stash.

If the Broom Fits...

I love Halloween stuff. The colours, the themes, the whole thing is very appealing to me, but I don't do anything at Halloween. This year I did make some cards and I'm taking one of my dogs out (in his sister's costume) to a Halloween themed Scent Detection party. He's not impressed about the costume, but he'll love the party.
Here's the first of the three cards I made:

The background is painted over watercolour paper sprayed with Goosebumps texture spray. The moon is cut with a circle die, and layered up. The wonderful witch is Impression Obsession "Witch Flying" DIE229-I and the saying is from a great Impression Obsession clear set "If the Broom Fits", but this set seems to be discontinued, so I'm so glad I picked it up, as I really like the whole set.

Paste Paper and SSS dies

Why make only one of these fun cards when you can have a blast making more?
Here's another card using the paste paper with the Judikins Iridescent Embossing powder and Utee.

Once again I used all Simon Says Stamp dies to make the card, and this time I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I think I like the front embossed better than plain. I am going to make a bunch of these cards and similar ones because I love the paste paper and this Circle of Leaves die is my latest favourite. I know I need to get started on Christmas cards, but I'm having too much fun making the paste paper sparkle!

Paste Paper Card #1

It's been ages since I put anything on my blog, probably because it's been ages since I made anything. So in honour of the recently passed World Cardmaking Day, I thought I'd show what I finally created.

This card was inspired by a stack of Paste Paper I made two years ago and needed to either chuck it or do something with it. The paper was interesting but the finish was dull. Nicole from Nika's Paper Arts showed me how I could add WOW to the paper, and it turned out amazing. I covered it with embossing ink and put Judikins Iridescent powder on it, then Nicole suggested using Diamond Glaze on top,but I added more embossing ink and Utee. There was no way I could get a photo to show the depth and sparkle of the finished product. It is stunning IRL.

Here's a sample of the paste papers before they get the layers of embossing powders. They are interesting, but lack the "wow" factor.
