The Impression Obsession challenge is to use your favorite technique. I have no idea what my favorite technique might be. It seems to be whatever I'm trying at the time. Stamping, embossing, colouring, painting ,sewing, layering, inking, distressing, fussy cutting, let's face it, it's all good ! I actually made two cards for this challenge, one using an IO stamp that's one of their old ones, but new to me, and the other using a newer release that's also new to me. I finally cashed in my IO winnnings ( YAY!!) and have wonderful new stamps and dies to play with. I had trouble making up my mind what to do, I'm a little over excited. Here's what I decided on:
I used the gorgeous new Beauty Rose (F8842) heat embossed in gold, and the technique I love of painting with Twinkling H20's on black cardstock. I fussy cut them out and used foam tape.
I love this new stamp and I have a desk covered in half finished cards using it!

They do a random draw for a $25.00 gift certificate. Picking what to spend it on is the hard part, so many great stamps to choose from.
What a drop dead gorgeous card. I have never used twinks on black, but you have really inspired me. Thanks so much for playing and good luck in the drawing too!! BTW what colors did you use? :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Really pretty card and I love the stamp you picked. It definitely is hard to choose. I zoomed in and love your painting!! Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeletegorgeous!! you sure picked a beautiful stamp with your certificate - so beautifully coloured; i've not tried the twinks on black either, but it sounds like fun. i LOVE the colours you used and papers too.

Gorgeous design, love the H20's on the black! The rose is beautiful. Cheers, Shirleyx
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card! It does not matter if that is an old IO stamp...it is timeless!
ReplyDeleteActually this is a new IO stamp, I also did a card with an old IO stamp, but could only enter one.
DeleteThe rose image is so effective on the black card, very beautiful. Love the gold embossing too, it reminds me of silk painting.
ReplyDeleteWow Shona!! This is gorgeous! So dramatic with the purple on black, I just love it!
ReplyDeleteSooo BEAUTIFUL -- forgotten about using H2O's -- sooo many things to use in my crowded craft room -- Hee! You've used it to perfection here -- GORGEOUS card, Shona!!!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are beautiful - I love purple anyhow but love twinks on black, I haven't done that in awhile so may have to dig out my twinks now!!!
