Impression Obsession has a new challenge called "Springtime Fun". You can find it here : http://mitrafriant.typepad.com/impression_obsession_news/2013/04/springtime-fun-challenge.html
I've been doing a lot of cards about Spring recently, or rather what I wish Spring was about. Flowers, green grass, new leaves on trees etc., my reality is a little different, but not suitable for a card! So this card is sticking to the fantasy theme of new green growth.
I used an older IO Gary Robertson stamp, one that's new to me, called Country House ( F1730 ). I coloured it with Copics and added some yellow Stickles to the flowers. The roses are hand cut and rolled with some yellow Stickles on them too. The leaves are from the IO die set, Flower Die ( DIE047-J ). I envisioned this card the minute I saw this stamp online in the IO store. I have a thing for this Spellbinders Lattice and couldn't wait for this stamp to get here so I could pair the two together!
Now, if you want to know what Spring really means to me. Mud, Mud and more Mud ! My sweet fur baby likes to dig in the mud, and there's always lots to dig in at this time of the year. She's so bad, that I trained her to go get in the bathtub on command. Then most of the mud ends up in the tub and not all over my bed. I spend a lot of time cleaning mud out of the tub ! I'm just glad she has short hair!
Hi Shona, A very pretty Spring card! The roses are lovely and just the perfect color to bring out your image. The blues are awesome too!! Thanks for playing and good luck in the drawing too!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring card, Shona! The stamp coloring is great and makes me yearn for the warm spring weather and flowers in bloom. The lattice Spellbinders fits it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThat is a well trained furry to go right into a tub!
Beautiful card Shona, the scenery is coloured so well with your Copics. The trellis die cut & ribbon weaved along with the flowers are perfect with the image! Happy Sunday, Shirleyx ps.. your dog looks sweet
ReplyDeleteMe again, I just finally clicked on your profile to see where you were that you are also waiting for Spring... hello to another Canadian! We love the East Coast, very friendy people :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous frame you created for this fab image! Love the woven ribbon! If it makes you feel any better we are in melting snow and mud season here in Alberta too!
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! I love the lattice, the stamp, the colors-it all just comes together so well! Now, I want that lattice die :) Are you entering this in the All That Stickles Yellow link? The only requirement is that you use Yellow Stickles. Here is the link in case you haven't and would like to link up http://allthatstickles.blogspot.com/2013/03/yellow-linky-party.html
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's Husky is a digger too. I miss her alot since my daughter moved out :( I bring her over for an "overnight at gram's" about once every week to 10 days. Good luck with the mud!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I love this stamp too. And the little flowers are wonderful as well! Thank you for introducing me to the spellbinders lattice and expandable patterns. I don't know how I missed out on them so far! I love how you put the design paper behind it. And love the story about your dog. :) Thanks for sharing.
