The first card I made, I didn't think it through very well. I ended up holding the card front over my head while trying to stick the bead filled ornament in the right place. D'oh !!
So, I realized that if I diecut two circles where I wanted the ornaments on the card front, I could attach the ornament then fill it from the back and just glue another piece of paper in behind. So much easier! The mircobeads still acted like psychotic life forms however. I don't know how to make them behave!!
The gold embossed sentiment is from a JustRite stamp set. The gold mirror cardstock I bought at Dollarama years ago, and I'm sorry I didn't buy more. It's so awesome for Christmas cards.

Love ,love these cards you say your cards are simple but aye they are so elegant . I have those micro beads too but have never used them the way you have .
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Shona, I'm sure they are even nicer in 'real' when you can shake the beads :) Happy Sunday, Shirleyx

Wow-you are really shaking things up with the shaker cards!!!
ReplyDeleteI recently read/watched a video by Jennifer McGuire where she uses the fun craft foam to make her shaker cards instead of a bunch of pieces of foam tape.
I haven't tried it, but she usually has some great tips. Here is the link to the tutorial. http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/11/video-embossed-stripes-shaker-card-tips-hop-giveaway.html
